Nick is a fourth generation San Franciscan who grew his passion for plants working at Sloat Garden Center. After high school he attended California State University Monterey Bay where he earned a Bachelors in Agriculture, Plant & Soil Science. During his time there he assisted professors in undergraduate research projects where he had the opportunity to run experiments with leafy greens. Nick also attended the 2023 Students of Agronomy, Soil & Environmental Sciences (SASES) national science conference in St. Louis Missouri. Towards the end of college, Nick began an internship with the USDA Advanced Research Site (ARS) facility in Salinas. Nick loves the outdoors, exploring national parks, and the occasional trip to Hollister Hills.
