Molly Helm | Environmental & Food Systems Educator

Molly Helm is a local artist, cook, and educator, originally from Pacific Grove. She comes to MEarth with years of hands-on experience in local food systems, organic farming, experiential education, and summer camp leadership, and a hunger to keep growing! Molly spent the early years of her life split between Nebraska, Oregon, and California, three agricultural hubs that helped shape her continued passion and curiosity about food and the outdoors. She credits much of her love of nature to childhood camping trips in Big Sur, and the fourteen summers she spent at an overnight summer camp in Missouri; as a camper, counselor, and eventually in a year round position as Assistant Director. Molly believes strongly in the life-long impact outdoor education and exploration can have.

Molly graduated from the School of the Art Institute of Chicago in 2016 with a Bachelors in Fine Arts. She continues to create work in a variety of mediums including printmaking, ceramics, and painting. After earning her degree, Molly traveled extensively to pursue her passions in art, farming, cooking, and connecting with others, most recently completing an organic farm apprenticeship in Mendocino County. Molly is so excited to work as an Environmental and Food Systems Educator at MEarth, and combine her love of food, farming, nature, and education into one role. She is grateful to have the opportunity to help facilitate a fun and nurturing environment for children to learn, grow, and connect with the earth, each other, and themselves.
