INDI McCARTHY | OPERATIONS & COMMUNICATIONS MANAGER

Indi McCarthy became MEarth’s Operations and Communications Manager in June 2024, bringing a robust background in producing impactful initiatives and a deep commitment to purposeful organizational design. With a focus on aligning systems with mission-driven goals, she has earned a reputation for fostering high-trust teams and empowering future leaders.

Throughout her career, Indi has successfully led projects that bridge art, education, and community engagement. She was instrumental in launching the University of California’s inaugural black box venue, where she produced visual and performing art installations, organized diverse programs, and spearheaded educational outreach initiatives across Orange County.

Since 2008, Indi has made significant contributions to small nonprofits, enhancing partnerships and optimizing shared resources. As a key leader, she drove a successful capital campaign to acquire land in the Central Coast and actively participated in indigenous wisdom councils from Guatemala to the Pacific Northwest, demonstrating her commitment to social responsibility and community empowerment at the local level.

Indi’s educational foundation at the innovative Nueva School in the San Francisco Bay Area instilled in her a passion for curiosity, creativity, and social impact. Her appreciation for immersive, hands-on experiential learning aligns perfectly with MEarth’s mission to connect people to the environment, fostering community, education, and inspiration.

Indi holds a Bachelor of Arts in Art History/Criticism and Fine Art from the University of California. Her professional development includes:
