Carol Olson | Board Secretary + Interim Executive Director

With 30 years of experience in non-profit and foundation management, Carol Olson is dedicated to ensuring all young people have access to connect with nature and its many benefits. She founded Basecamp Strategies which partners with non-profit organizations and foundations to engage young people in the outdoors and advance environmental stewardship.

Carol is also the network facilitator of the Environmental Education Funders Collaborative (EEFC) of the SF Bay Area, an alliance for shared learning. Previously, Carol served as the Director of Environment and Stewardship Programs with the Morgan Family Foundation where she spearheaded major collaborative initiatives, including the Northern Sierra Partnership and the California Stewardship Network. Carol served for ten years as the President/CEO of the Mountain View Chamber of Commerce, where her cooperative approach engaged the business, government, education, and non-profit sectors to better serve the community at large.

Carol grew up in the San Francisco Bay Area and graduated from UC Berkeley. She and her husband (and their energetic dog) feel grateful to call the beautiful central coast home.
