MAURICIO A. LOPEZ, SR. ENVIRONMENTAL STEWARDSHIP EDUCATOR

Moving to the United States as a teenager, Mauricio Lopez carries many of
the memories created in his home, Guatemala City. There, Mauricio witnessed the
severe environmental degradation that comes along with the development of
metropolitan cities. Seeing human’s extraordinary impact on the earth has inspired
Mauricio to devote his career to educating others about the importance of
sustainability, environmental stewardship, and the threat of climate change.

While pursuing his degree in Environmental Studies and a minor in Biology from
CSU Monterey Bay, Mauricio has worked as an outdoor educator for Monterey Bay
Charter School and Ventana Wildlife Society. Outside of MEarth, you can find
Mauricio camping, kayaking, and mushroom hunting. Mauricio is ecstatic about joining MEarth’s unique team and serving as an Environmental Stewardship Educator.
