NANCY VIELMAS, STEWARDSHIP EDUCATOR

Nancy moved to Monterey Bay in 2013 from Southeast Los Angeles to explore new territory and earn her B.A in Environmental Studies concentrating in Science for Sustainable Communities from Cal State Monterey Bay. In college, she began exploring Fort Ord National Monument with her friends and fell in love with the natural beauty that the Central Coast has to offer. Connecting to nature has brought Nancy infinite benefits and continues to do so. It has drastically improved her health, her relationships with herself and others, and has made her experience on Earth beautiful and exciting. She enjoys sharing the wonders of nature in creative ways by using her natural sciences knowledge and experience in outdoor education. Outside of MEarth, Nancy spends her time on a sailboat in Santa Cruz teaching youth about Marine ecosystems and basic sailing and navigation. In her free time, she enjoys quality time with loved ones, hiking, road trips, spontaneous camping, yoga, reading, painting, and dinner parties. She is thrilled to be a part of the MEarth team as a Stewardship Educator.
