This summer MEarth is showcasing sustainable living in a whole new way! Please join us for a series of culinary celebrations that are uniquely “MEarth.”
Thursday, August 22nd: Chef Jacob Pilarski + Pastry Chef Ben Spungin
The Monterey Peninsula food scene got a major bonus when Chef Jacob Pilarski decided to move south after a fruitful tenure as the Sous Chef at fabled foodie-heaven Manresa in Los Gatos for nearly 5 years. After a brief stint as Chef de Cuisine at the stunning Sierra Mar Restaurant (Post Ranch), Chef Pilarski has now joined the team at the Big Sur Bakery. Known for his commitment to farm-fresh produce, Chef Pilarksi will surely create a memorable meal with the bounty of the season!
Pastry Chef Ben Spungin from the acclaimed Marinus Restaurant in Carmel Valley, has decided to join in the fun of the evening and will surely tantalize your taste-buds with his sweet things! It’s going to be a fun night!
The event will begin at 5:30 with an (optional) tour of the surrounding organic gardens where most of the veggies in the dinner were grown. We will gather around our family-style table at 6pm to enjoy an unforgettable multi-course meal. *Please note that since the building is technically on school grounds, no alcoholic beverages will be served at the dinner. Chefs will prepare some fun “mocktails” that will be creatively paired with courses for your enjoyment.
All proceeds from these dinners will go directly towards supporting the work of MEarth in our community: www.MEarthCarmel.org. The purchase of tickets is tax-deductible to the extent allowed by law.
Sunday, September 8th: Eat the Art
The Central Coast Pastry Coalition presents “Eat the Art”: a six-course pop-up dessert dinner + edible art gallery at MEarth.
This special collaboration will feature 2 internationally recognized pastry chefs from Southeast Asia and a collection of our local sweet geniuses, who will take our sweet teeth to new edible and artistic dimensions, at this one of a kind event.
